There is a faster and easier trick to 12:47 qsn 13. Here if we know that in the right hand side equation (ax-2) will multiply with (-8x-3) {taking LCM} so we know the coeff of x2 is -8a. On the LHS coeff of x2 is 24 so 'a' must be -3!

On the digital SAT arn't you allowed to use a digital calculator that is very similar to desmos throughout the entire test? I remeber taking the digital PSAT and I was allowed to use a calculator on all math sections.
